FIELD TEMPLATES FOR WORKING CONTRACTORS

Daily crew reports shouldn't be a second shift.

Whether you lead electrical, mechanical, plumbing, concrete, low-voltage or general construction crews, start with a consistent record of who worked, where, and what happened. Compare the free checklist with optional one-time downloadable reporting and planning tools.

What belongs in a contractor daily report?

Keep facts and locations specific so supervisors can follow up without guessing what happened. Record:

  • Crew headcount, hours and work locations
  • What was completed and what remains
  • Daily materials and deliveries
  • Weather, delays and access constraints
  • Issues for the GC or PM
  • What your crew needs next shift

Which tool fits your crew?

One-time downloads suit teams that want offline files and control over their own data. Live Sheets Deluxe, sold separately as a monthly subscription, is the team coordination option when multiple people need shared updates. Do not confuse the two: downloadable workbooks do not automatically synchronize with the live service or third-party systems.

Four-week look-ahead and productivity

For short-interval planning, list activities and locations across four weeks, then check manpower assumptions, access, materials and outstanding RFIs. For productivity, enter your own installed quantities, labor allowances and actual hours; the workbook does not supply verified rates or automated job costing.

These tools are general documentation aids. Use your employer's approved safety, inspection, payroll and contract-required reporting systems when needed.
